The goose flock is head of farm security and absolutely nothing gets by them and their loud mouths! Kiwi is the boss. He was given to us by his previous loving owner because he was attacking tourists. He continues his reign of terror at the farm. Bare ankles are a delicacy that he cannot resist chasing. He secretly enjoys being picked up and hugged.
The two females were in love before Kiwi and Juice showed up, but they have accepted the boys as part of the flock.
Juice was given to us by his loving owner as a baby so that he could experience living with his own kind. At first he was very shy near the geese, but one day they bonded over their affection for a small mud puddle and the rest was history. Now that he has discovered honking with the others, nothing can stop him.
There is a group of about 50 chickens at the farm, a mix of street chickens and adopted egg layer breeds. Many of them have names and are very friendly. Too friendly. They love to lay surprise eggs in the backseat of any vehicle.
The first two ducks were rescued from a local farm that had neglected all of the animals. Only one survived. She was very lonely until locals brought more ducks to the farm and asked us to take them in. Now they form a sweet little family and enjoy splashing in puddles, water troughs and their duck pond.
